Weather : Heavy frost. Sunny but cold
Progress : Popped in during the morning to check the site which all seemed OK. tried to dig some Carrots but the ground was too well frozen. Called back late afternoon and successfully dug a bunch of large Carrots. Had a chat with one of the allotmenteers who lives adjacent who said he would keep an eye open for further trouble. Noticed that the hedge along Green lane had been trimmed by a machine. My seed order was delivered today.

Progress : Turned in the top dressing on part of plot 2d and planted a roe of Cabbages given to me by the allotmenteer who left last week. Top dressed plot 2c with home-made compost. Dug a sizeable Parsnip. Spoke with another allotmenteer who had found some gardening tools by his shed. I believe I know to whom they belong so I will advise him when I see him next.
Weather : Sunny spells
Progress : Just called in to cut a Cabbage. Whilst there I put the fork and rake that I had been shown yesterday back on to the owners plot.
Weather : Drizzle and some sleet

Progress : Didn't go to the allotment again today as I was still working on the house.
Weather : Frost. Sunny spells and snow showers.
Progress : Delivered some bags of fresh horse dung. Cut some Sprouts but could only use the top of the stems as the lower Sprouts were small and damaged by frost. Dug some large Carrots and washed them ready to take home. Eat the last of the stored Picasso main crop potatoes - they have been very good and have an excellent taste. We are now onto the Arran Pilot from store.
Weather : Frost. Overcast and very cold wind
Progress : No work today.
Weather : Frost. Some sunny spells
Progress : No work today but I did call in on the way back from the shops to pick some sprigs of Parsley. It did not come from my plot as it had all been knocked back by frost. It came from my pals allotment where he had invited me to take what I needed.
Weather : Some sunny spells.
Progress : Dug the only two Scorzonera plants that germinated last year. Also dug a Parsnip. Although there are plenty of Carrots still in the ground, they are no good now as the frost, carrotfly and other pests have got the better of them. Pulled up most of the Winter Cabbage stems and all the remaining Brussels Sprouts and composted the softer parts. Had a visit from the Police at home later as they were following up on our reports of vandalsim on the allotments.
Weather : Some sunny spells.
Progress : No work today. Went to the local Garden Centre and whilst there bought Salsify and Scorzonera seeds.
Weather : Overcast and chilly
Progress : Delivered a carload of fresh horse dung.
Weather : Mostly sunny
Progress : Turned in the top dressing on half of plot 2c. Cleared finished brassica stem from plot 3c then weeded and removed the big stones from the cleared areas. Weeded and destoned plot 2b. Dug a few large Carrots with the intention of making some soup. Also took the few remaining edible looking Swedes. Covered the Curly Kale and Purple Sprouting Broccoli as the pigeons have ravaged the shoots. There was an allotment holders meeting at the Town Hall this evening but I did not attend.
Weather : Very wet day
Progress : No work today. Made some soup with the Carrots I dug yesterday.
Weather : Some sunny spells
Progress : No work today. Spoke to one of the allotmenteers today who said he had attended the meeting on Wednesday. He said it was a waste of time but that it looks as if the proposal to form an association will get through.
Weather : Some sunny spells
Progress : A brief visit to dig a couple of Parsnips. On the way I saw the allotmenteer whose tools I had found and returned just to check that they were his.
