Progress : Dug a couple of Parsnips today. The first was so small that I thought I would have to gather my entire crop, however, the second made up for it. Found that Pigeons have been pecking off the heads of the Purple Sprouting Broccoli so I put a net over to discourage them.

Progress : Actually managed to get onto the allotment today. Was that a gasp of surprise I heard or a round of applause? Double dug another trench in plot 2d then top dressed with stable manure. Picked some Curly Kale and Parsley for dinner.

Progress : went up for a picking. Whilst there, I spoke with a new adjacent allotmenteer who had recently received a delivery of soil improver and I wanted to know the details. He said that it came from Hills of Calne and had been delivered for £80 ton.

Progress : Got in some grub for Sunday dinner. Had a chat with a couple who started last year near to my allotment. They are getting on well now and are making good honest attempts although they are novices.
